We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager responsible for overseeing accounting operations for our markets in Germany and Japan. In this role, you will coordinate and manage external accounting service providers and serve as the primary point of contact for local business stakeholders to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely financial processes in these jurisdictions. 

You will work closely with our local finance team in Prague, external and internal accountants, to support local statutory reporting, month-end closings, audits, and ad hoc finance needs while ensuring alignment with local GAAP and company policies. 

What would you work on?  

  • Coordinate External Accounting Providers, manage relationships and workflows and oversee the quality and timeliness of deliverables, including monthly reporting, statutory financial statements, tax filings, and other compliance requirements. 
  • Act as the primary finance point of contact for local teams in Germany and Japan, supporting day-to-day finance-related queries and facilitate clear communication between local teams, global finance, and external providers to ensure smooth financial operations 
  • Oversee and review monthly closings prepared by external providers, ensuring timely and accurate reporting aligned with local and group requirements; reconcile key accounts and ensure alignment between statutory and management reporting. 
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax, and regulatory frameworks in Germany and Japan 
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes in both jurisdictions 
  • Co-operation with external tax advisors on annual tax filings and other tax queries. 
  • Support and mentor local accountants providing internal support to our accounting providers. 
  • Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and maintain strong financial controls. 
  • Maintain clear documentation of accounting processes and local statutory requirements. 
  • Partner with global finance, tax, legal, and operational teams to support business initiatives in Germany and Japan. 
  • Assist in the implementation of global finance projects with local market considerations. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, changes in accounting standards, and corporate regulations. 

What makes you a great candidate? 

  • University degree in accounting or finance-related area. 
  • 10 years of work experience in the same or similar position. 
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. 
  • Excellent communication skills.  
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.  
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively, collaborate with diverse teams, and maintain a strong focus on timely and accurate delivery. 
  • Experiences from fast growing environment and with ERP implementation is a big plus. 
  • Fluency in Czech and English; German is a plus.
