Billing Operations Specialist / Energy

Second Foundation is an international energy trading and asset management firm headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, with offices in Switzerland, Germany, Japan and the US. Our team of 400 professionals specializes in power trading, transforming complex data into market-leading trading strategies through advanced technology and sophisticated quantitative modeling. 

We are seeking a colleague to join us in the management of our renewable portfolio, with a focus on securing its financial stability. The role is key to ensure correct, timely, complete and smooth billing toward our customers over all locations – from ensuring correct customer x product x volume settings, billing document generation and tracking open issues, over alignment with the Finance team on cashflow planning up to the coordination of implementation of billing of new products. The amount of cash flowing through the billing process exceeds 100MEUR annually. 

What would you work on? 

• Ownership of the customer billing process  across Second Foundation customers with interfaces to DEV, Finance, and other stakeholders. 
• Maintaining an overview of the billing pipeline status and ensuring accurate and timely billing documents. 
• Driving consistency by ensuring every element of the billing process is accounted for. 
• Keeping Finance updated on upcoming payments and contributing to cash flow planning. 
• Managing and prioritizing the billing backlog for the DEV team. 
• Coordinating billing setup for new products. 
• Collaborating with teams such as Assets Reporting, DEV, Finance, Controlling, Accounting, and Compliance (REMIT). 

What makes you a great candidate? 

• University degree in a quantitative field (mathematics, physics, computer science, economics, finance, accounting). 
• Work experience in business reporting, controlling, or finance / accounting operations.
• 2-4 years of work experience in a similar position. 
• Basic skills in Python, SQL, and Excel. 
• Fluency in English. 
• Knowledge of the energy industry and the German language is an advantage. 
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills. 
• Eagerness to learn new things, curiosity, independence, being a quick thinker and problem solver.
