Business Analyst

Second Foundation is a global energy trading company with around 400 employees across locations in Prague HQ (CZ), Zug (CH), Mainz (DE), Berlin (DE), Charlotte (USA), and Tokyo (JP). Our focus is on integrating and optimizing the marketing of renewable energies and battery storage systems in the power market. We have been investing in its own assets, primarily focusing on battery storage systems. 

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Prague office. You will evaluate M&A opportunities in the energy and battery-storage sectors, support deal execution, and assist with the integration and performance improvement of acquired companies. Your work will help expand and strengthen our portfolio across Europe and other key markets. 

What would you work on? 

• Analyse markets, competitors, regulation and technology across the energy and battery-storage sectors. 
• Source and evaluate BESS M&A opportunities, prepare investment cases and support due-diligence through to deal close. 
• Translate models, filings and internal data into concise, decision-ready materials. 
• Work with portfolio companies to drive optimization, growth and smooth post-acquisition integration. 
• Assist with integration planning and execution for newly acquired businesses. 

What makes you a great candidate? 

• Degree in business, finance or a STEM field (preferred). 
• 1–5 years’ experience in the energy or battery-storage sectors. 
• Proven talent in identifying and shaping new growth opportunities through market, competitive and regulatory analysis. 
• Solid data-handling, analysis and visualisation skills; Python experience a plus. 
• Advanced financial-modelling ability and full command of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). 
• Detail-focused, diligent and able to turn complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations. 
• Curious, quick to learn and comfortable applying critical and creative thinking to business problems.
