Key Account Manager – Energy Markets

Second Foundation is a global energy trading company with around 400 employees across locations in Prague HQ (CZ), Zug (CH), Mainz (DE), Berlin (DE), Charlotte (USA), and Tokyo (JP). Our focus is on integrating and optimizing the marketing of renewable energies and battery storage systems in the power market. We have been investing in its own assets, primarily focusing on battery storage systems.
We are looking for a Key Account Manager to join our team in Prague and support the growth of our business across European energy markets. This role focuses on managing strategic client relationships and developing tailored energy solutions that align with client needs and business objectives. The successful candidate will play a key part in expanding our presence, driving commercial performance, and supporting the transition toward more sustainable energy systems.
What would you work on?
- Identify new business opportunities across the energy trading landscape, including electricity, natural gas, renewable energy, and carbon markets.
- Develop and implement customized commercial strategies and products that address client-specific needs.
- Lead negotiations for complex energy contracts, ensuring outcomes that balance client interests with business goals.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
- Monitor account performance, track market trends, and provide regular updates on internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams including trading, legal, risk, finance, and analytics to ensure effective delivery of services.
What makes you a great candidate?
- Proven experience in energy markets, preferably in origination, key account management, or commercial roles within Europe.
- Established network and familiarity with key stakeholders in the energy sector
- Understanding of energy trading, regulations, and market trends
- Commercial and analytical skills with a focus on identifying and delivering client value
- Proven ability to manage complex negotiations and long-term client relationships
- Team-oriented approach with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Fluent in English; additional European languages (e.g. German, Italian, Spanish) are an advantage
- Degree in business, economics, energy, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus
