Origination Analyst

Second Foundation is a global energy trading company with around 400 employees across locations in Prague HQ (CZ), Zug (CH), Mainz (DE), Berlin (DE), Charlotte (USA), and Tokyo (JP). Our focus is on integrating and optimizing the marketing of renewable energies and battery storage systems in the power market. We have been investing in its own assets, primarily focusing on battery storage systems. 

To support the ongoing growth of our commercial activities and asset portfolio, we are looking for an Origination Analyst to join our team in Prague. In this role, you will help identify new market opportunities, support commercial decision-making, and contribute to the value creation and operational performance of our power assets across European energy markets.

What would you work on?  

• Conduct research and analysis on energy markets, including supply, demand, pricing trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities.  
• Come up with new ways to bring value to existing power assets in the grid using the Second Foundation platform.   
• Develop specific business deals with physical power technology operators and owners.   
• Prioritize technologies and specific deals given their current and future size, ease of integration with Second Foundation’s platform, and the amount of value the SF platform can bring.   
• Manage end-to-end business side of the deal from integration to business operations and analysis.   
• Evaluate a generation portfolio performance and take full responsibility for its seamless operation.  
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including energy suppliers, utilities, and financial institutions.

• Prior knowledge or at least interest in energy.  
• Record of excellence in an academic or business environment.  
• Solid technical background, ideally quantitatively focused.  
• Ideally some knowledge of financial accounting.  
• Perfect English.  
• Ability and willingness to travel to clients or partners across Europe and beyond.
