Energy Nest

With the innovative Energy nest hybrid power source, we keep the grid in balance

Since July 2024, we are trading the ancillary services of Energy nest - a unique hybrid power source with the largest battery storage in the country, whose launch you probably didn't miss a few days ago. Thanks to our experience in the market, the Decci energy group has entrusted us with 30 MW of capacity, combining gas turbines with batteries to provide aFRR+ and FCR services.
On 10 July, in Vraňany in the Mělník region, the Energy nest hybrid energy source was was put into operation - an innovative source using a combination of a large-capacity battery storage with a capacity of 20 MW and 22 MWh and six aeroderivative turbines with a total capacity of 32.4 MW. Nano Energies provided technical advice on the operations of the ancillary services of the plant. Since the beginning of July, Energy nest has actually been providing the ancillary services and Nano Energies has been trading them.
The aim of Energy nest is to compensate for surpluses or shortages in the transmission system for ČEPS, the Czech transmission system operator, which is responsible for the stability of the network. The transmission system needs to respond to the increasing share and variability of renewable energy and requires the integration of other reliable and low-carbon sources that can flexibly and safely compensate for fluctuations within minutes.
Thanks to an innovative combination of technologies, Energy Nest can respond quickly to the needs of the grid and has a high degree of energy flexibility. It can operate at full power in as little as two minutes, making Energy Nest an ideal resource for providing support services.
Nano Energies is currently trading 30 MW of capacity provided by gas turbines combined with the largest battery storage in the Czech Republic. In the future, we plan to work together to expand the capacity and type of services offered.
